A Tribute to Sally Dee

Sally Dee is a much-loved dance teacher and promoter of Scottish Country Dancing in the Boston area. She received her teacher's certificate from Miss Milligan in 1978, four years after founding the Salem Class of the RSCDS, known as the Wee Bluets, which has been holding regular Scottish Country Dance classes and parties ever since. Sally's devotion, boundless energy, humor, and mentoring continue to be an inspiration to dancers everywhere.

A group of her friends have taken it upon themselves to create this web site in her honor, where her many devoted admirers may post dances devised for her or music composed for her. You may also find information about a new CD of Scottish dance music in her honor, played by fiddler Lissa Schneckenburger and accordionist/pianist Tom Pixton, with assisting artists. If you have dances you have devised, or tunes you have composed, in honor of Sally Dee, or for anyone else associated with Sally, and would like to submit them for inclusion on this site, please contact the Sally Dee Project Committee.

The blue tartan you see on this site, and on the CD, are taken from Sally's own Wee Bluet tartan, which she created in 1999. To visit other areas of the site, please move your cursor to the blue buttons at the left.
